Our First Baby!

This is Angela posting for Beth and Vic who are still at the hospital. I'll try and load some pics but might not be able to figure out how to upload them. If I can't then ya'll will have to wait 'til Beth can get on. Continue to pray for a speedy recovery. When we went to see them this afternoon Vic wrote the following post;
Sorry for the tardy post, but Bethany and I just want to let everyone know that Hannah Faith Maxson made her appearance into this world at 2:58am, January 2nd, 2008. She just missed her due date by three hours. She is very cute and weighs 7lbs. 7oz. and is 20in long. We praise the Lord that Mom Turack was able to be there for the birth, along with me, of course! Our original plan was to do a home birth, but after about 20 hours of labor, we determined that we needed further care, and so took her to the hospital. We first drove to Southeast Baptist Hospital, where they insisted on performing a C-section. We were not comfortable with that, at least not so soon!, so instead we went up to Wilford Hall (a military hospital) at Lackland Air Force Base. We were disappointed that we were not able to do a home birth, but thankful that it was still a natural, vaginal birth with no complications. Baby and Mom are fine and recovering and we hope to go home tomorrow morning (1/3/2008).
We deeply appreciate the prayers of all of you who love us.
Yours in Christ,
Victor, Bethany, and Hannah Maxson
P.S. Further details and more pictures will be forthcoming. Stay Tuned!

I ran across your blog post from a Google alert on "home birth". I'm a midwife in Oregon. Congratulations on the birth of your baby, and big kudos to you for refusing an unnecessary c-section and moving on to another hospital. It's always inspiring to me when women listen to their bodies and know what they are capable of. Congratulations!
