Eastbound coupon train...

The eastbound coupon train is traveling on... it has left stop #7 and is headed to (or already arrived?) at stop #8.

Those of you on the westbound train, I'm not getting much help with figuring out what's wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Did you recieve it? Did you NOT recieve it? Any info would greatly help me to get things going again...

Thanks!

Cute Hannah pictures...

When we moved here to Florida, Victor bought me a really nice new cell phone with a camera on. Since then, I've gotten some really cute pictures of Hannah, but wasn't quite sure how to get them off. Well, today I figured it out, and here are two of them!!

Treasure the moment...

We got this picture with grandma the day we left. It's funny how, when someone is diagnosed with a life threatening disease like cancer, you really begin to look at life a little differently. You treasure each moment with them, and try to take little snapshots that will help you remember them later on. But really, why should it be any different with anyone. So often, tragedy stirkes faster than you can imagine, and those precious moments are gone forever. It's really helping to put things into perspective for me. I'm not guaranteed another day and niether is anyone close to me. As I looked at this picture tonight the thought entered my mind 'What if we ended up treasuring this picture because of someone other than grandma?'. You really never know. Try to remember to make each moment count...

A week in review...

We arrived home safely on Thursday, but I'm just now getting a chance to post. We hit the ground running when we got home.

Before we left, we enjoyed some wonderful fellowship with the Myers and Wilsons (two families in our church).

Hannah with "Grandma and Grandpa Myers":)

Then on Saturday, Victor gave me a delightful mother's day. He bought me a porta-crib for Hannah (I'd been wanting one for her since she outgrew her bassinet and needed something bigger). It works wonderful. He also got me dinner (wings and potatoes!!!) since I had been down with a stomach bug all day. Then for dessert, he bought me an ice cream cake!

Here's Hannah making a mother's day card for me with a little help from Daddy:) Afterwards she was so happy with herself as you can see below.

Monday found us on our way to Iowa. It was a long day, but Hannah did pretty well. The first flight was a little rough, but I realized after we landed, that the reason for her fussiness was a dirty diaper. Oops...

Hannah in the airport...

Hannah waiting for our plane (and getting daddy's arm very wet:)...

Hannah and I waiting for my parents to come pick all of us up...

Victor painting grandma and grandpa's old farmhouse...

Hannah and her great-grandma...

Hannah playing in an exer-saucer that one of grandma's friends let us borrow! I love the look on her face!!

Hannah basking in the sun in the middle of grandma's flowerbed...

Daddy and Caleb painting the barn. You can see the lighter old paint and the darker new paint...

Joseph (9) got this picture of Hannah and I. I think it turned out really well...

Here's Hannah and grandma...

Here's another classic Hannah expression... gotta love it:)

Hannah loved spending time with her great-grandparents, as you can see from this picture...

...and this one.

Here are four generations! We got a picture like this when Grandma came to visit us in Texas, but I was still in birth recovery, and I didn't quite care for the picture, so we did a retake. I like this much better:)

All in all, we had a wonderful trip. The guys worked on painting the barn and the house, and I got to visit lots. We also got to see Uncle Dave, Aunt Michelle, Zak and Rachael. That was fun, but I forgot pictures... oops!! I'll try to post more pictures later...

Four months old...

Last Friday, our little girl turned four months old. It's hard to believe how fast time is going by. It seems like just yesterday I was waiting and waiting for her to be born. She's maturing very quickly, and we're enjoying watching her grow up.

Some of her latest things are:
1. She has started sticking her whole hand in her mouth to chew on it. It's so funny cause her whole hand will just disappear into her mouth, but she never chokes herself.

2. She's found her feet:) Just last night, she started lifting her feet in the air, grabbing them and trying to stick them in her mouth!

3.She's also started rolling over. She actually started last week, and has gotten pretty good at it.

4. She LOVES anything to do with the out of doors. She loves going for walks with mommy and daddy at night, and she loves standing on the couch and looking out the window at the grass and trees!!

5. And last but not least, her teeth are ready to break through any day now. You can see them so close to the top. We'll post pictures once they come through...

Life as of late!

We've been very busy lately, so thus the infrequent posts. Lots of activities and things to go to here, plus trying to keep up with housework and taking care of my precious little girl!

We recently recieved word that my grandma (mom's mom) was just diagnosed with colon cancer. It was quite a surprise to all of us, as grandma has always been so healthy and full of life. The doctors say that it's incurable and they will be begining chemo soon. Because of all that, my family as well as Victor, Hannah and I will be traveling up to Iowa next week where we'll spend some time with my Grandma and Grandpa. Please pray for us that we will be a blessing to them, and also that we will have a safe trip. Also pray for my grandparents and they recieve and process this news.

I'm going to try to post soon about Hannah. I meant to on Friday, since that was her four month birthday, but life got away from me.

My CVS adventures...

Last Saturday, I went CVSing for the first time. I'd heard so much good stuff about it, but always felt overwhelmed when I tried to understand it, so I never tried. Until... last week it seemed there were quite a few good deals, so I decided to give it a try. And you know what? It WAS a good week. Below I'll tell you about it along with pictures.

Seeing as I had never done anything with CVS before, I didn't have any ECB's, so the deals below are without those:

Transaction #1:
I bought all of this for about $22 and got $19 ebc's back. Also, there was a mail in rebate for the Touch of gray, so I'll end up making $8 on that.

Transaction #2: This blood glucose monitor was on sale for 29.99. I had a $20 off coupon, which made it 9.99. I also had a $3/$15 coupon which made it come to 6.99. I used a 6.00 ecb from the last transaction and paid .99 oop. There's a rebate which I sent away for, which will give me 29.99 back.

So after rebates and all, I will have made about $18 and will have $13 in ecb's to use next time. This is fun:)

A walk in the park...

Victor got this beautiful picture while we were taking our walk in the park tonight. He's really good at photography and lighting!!

The promised post...

Well, here it is. The promised post. I've spent most of the morning working on learning the ropes of all this bargain shopping, CVSing, couponing, etc. I'm not sure that I've quite got it down yet, but we'll see after I go shopping tomorrow night. Thankfully, I have a sweet husband who's understanding and encouraging of all this. That helps alot.

Speaking of a sweet husband, I'd like to tell you what he did for me last Saturday. We were out most of the day at a baby shower, meeting his brother and sister-in-law for dinner and THEN he took me shopping. I wanted to try some bargain shopping (I have a story I might tell later if you all promise not to laugh too hard:) and we were also going to look for some organizational items to help the small space we live in to be a little more neat and orderly. Well, I'd like to show you what he bought and put together for me.

1. He bought me a tall black bookshelf type thing to hold all my pantry/bargain items.

2. He also bought me hanging shelf organizers for our closet. They were on sale for $6 at Target!! Before

After

Some of the stuff being stored in the closet isn't ours, but I was able to organize the stuff that is!

And later, I'll try to post about my couponing mess ups:)
