Dear Friends and Family,
Just wanted to share some wonderful news with all of you. This morning we found out that we are expecting and I should be due sometime around January of next year. I'll let you know as we get more details. I'm still processing everything. It's wonderful and yet sobering all at the same time. I feel so young, and yet God has seen fit to bless me so much lately. I'll never understand His goodness to me.
Well, we need to go shopping. Life doesn't stop just because I get pregnant!
Love you guys,
Bethany

A long overdue post...
Well, here we are. We now have internet and are mostly settled in the apartment. It's probably good I didn't have internet while I was moving in, or I probably would have gotten very little done:)
Everything has been going pretty well, and we've been quite busy. Victor has been at work quite a bit, and I've been enjoying getting everything settled into place.
I'm looking forward to beginning to learn Chichewa soon with Vic as my very able teacher. Lord willing, I'll be able to have a good grasp on the basic parts of the language before we return in a year or so. We'll see. I'm not the fastest learner.
Well, many of you have asked for pictures from the wedding, so I will post some pictures for you all!! Hope you enjoy them...

Settling in...
Victor and I are home now and getting settled in. We don't have phone or internet yet (AT+T isn't working with us:) so thus I haven't been able to post. We're at Starbuck's right now having a little coffee date though, so we were able to use the internet. I'll try to start posting again once we get internet. In the meantime, we're doing well and getting settled quite nicely into our new life!
Until later...

Thrilling Thursday...
Today started out really slow. We didn't get to bed till 1:00 ( don't ask me why, we were trying to update this blog and talk and we got to laughing so hard our sides hurt - for no reason at all).
So... we got up around 9:30 and got ready for the day, had a breakfast of granola and yogurt and then had devotions together. I've come to look forward to those times together!! They are such sweet times of prayer and reading the scriptures together.
After morning devotions, we went into Port Isabel to get some things at Wal-mart, and then stopped by Pizza Hut to get a meat lovers pizza and take it to the beach to have a pizza picnic. We found a somewhat isolated spot, and had a lunch of pizza, krab salad, crakers and fruit juice:) When we finished eating, we threw some crackers to the seagulls. It's really cool to throw crackers up into the air and watch them catch them in mid air.
After lunch we went back to the hotel and changed and got ready for our horseback ride. We were supposed to be there at 3:30 and we just barely made it, cause I was having a hard time getting ready quickly.
Once there, we checked in and then waited ofr a bit while they got the young children on first. After the children, we saddled up and left for a ride along the beach. It was beautiful weather, and Victor got some nice pics (he's had the still camera most of the time, while I've had the video camera, so that explains why most of the pictures just have me in them:)
After we got back from our ride, we went down and walked on the beach a little. Then we headed to Taco Bell and picked up some dinner and headed back to the hotel room to eat it on our back porch. Our back porch has a beautiful view!!!

Our trip to Mexico...
Today was our trip to Mexico. We started out the day with a trip to Yummies Cafe, a neat little coffee shop in town. The atmosphere was really pleasant, and the food was good.
After breakfast, we headed into Mexico. It took us about an hour or so to get to the border, and we got through with no problem. After we crossed, we began driving and drove for a little ways without much sucess. Mexico roads (for those who haven't been to Mexico) are a little more difficult and scary than US roads. At one intersection, a little man with a green outfit and wooden cane, stopped us and told us that he was a tourists guide. He offered to take us to the market and keep "you and your little wife safe". He was a real neat guy and we found out over lunch that he is a new believer. He said he used to be a catholic, but is now a christian. He used to drink, but he doesn't anymore.
We had fun learning spanish from him throughout the day. He spoke english pretty well, but had fun teaching us new words. By the end of the day, he was giving driving commands to Victor in spanish only. It was kind of funny.
After lunch, he took us to the shops of some "brothers" who gave us some "good deals". We were able to shop for some souveniors for our families, as well as buy some things for ourselves. Victor bought me a really pretty pair of leather sandals, and a silver heart necklace.
After we finished our shopping, we went to the plaza to get some pictures. I put some on this post. After the plaza, our guide gave us a tour of the city. I was able to get some neat footage with him narrating, as well as some footage of him and Victor bantering back and forth in Spanish:)
Once the tour was over, we dropped him off back at his "office" and then headed to the border. On our way in, I told Victor that everytime I had gone to Mexico, our vehicle had been picked for a random search. Since we got into Mexico without a problem, I didn't think that going out would be a problem. But... sure enough as we went through the check point, the officers told us "your car has been picked by the computer for a random search". We pulled over and got out and opened up the whole car. The officer searched the truck, and then let us go on through.
After we got back to the hotel, we took a little rest before going to Paulino's Italian Restaurant for dinner. It was pretty empty, and we had a quiet dinner to ourselves.
After dinner we went to the nature park at the end of the Island to watch the sunset. It was SO beautiful!! Once the sun set, we headed back to the hotel and enjoyed the lights of the city on the way.
It's been another wonderful day with my beloved!!!

Terrific Tuesday...
Today was wonderful. We started out the day with breakfast at the hotel. Then we went to the South Padre Island information center and picked up some info about activities on the island. After that, we went to the Andy Bowie county park and had a KFC picnic under a pavillion. Then we went along the beach and ran in the waves and built sand castles and had a good ol' time. We don't have any pictures of the sand castle, cause it was pretty pathetic:)
After the beach, we went to the hotel and got into dry clothes. Then we went to Blackbeard's for dinner. The food was SO good! We tried some scallops and oysters. They were OK:)
After dinner, we went and took a sunset cruise on the bay. It was beautiful!! We saw dolphins right near the ship and I was able to get some footage of them.
After that, we headed back to the hotel for the night...

Monday...
Today was a busy, but slow day... it was gray and rainy when we got up, so we took things kind of slow. We did some shopping we needed to do at Wal- Mart and then went to an all-you-can-eat China Buffet for lunch. It was actually really good! After lunch, we went to a couple of souveniers shops and bought some items.
After we got home, we changed and went down to the beach for a little while and walked along it. The sun had come out by then, and everything was SO beautiful. It felt good to get some much needed exercise! After that, we came home and had a beautiful dinner out on the back porch of our hotel room. It was lovely and romantic!

Our new life begins...
Today is the day that Victor and I began our wedded life. The wedding itself was beautiful and we both really enjoyed ourselves. We started the day by coming together to pray in the empty sanctuary with Joy (Vic's sister). It was a beautiful time together as we committed our lives to the service of our King.
My heart had a wondeful peace the whole day. Even though a few problems arose, God gave me grace to deal in a calm manner with them. Everyone kept commenting on how smoothly everything was going. I can only know that God was bestowing His blessings on our day in helping everything to go so smoothly.
The ceremony itself was beautiful and went off without a problem as far as I know :) It was quick, and before I knew it, Pastor was pronouncing us man and wife and Victor kissed me and we left the sanctuary. Everything has been a whirlwind since then, and life seems to be flying by.
I'll try to post more as our honeymoon progresses.
